Vintage Marine Graphics was built on experience that cannot be rushed, outsourced, or learned in a classroom. Founder Kim Sutton lettered his first boat at sixteen years old, working entirely by hand long before vinyl cutters, printers, or digital design tools existed. Early projects involved hand-painted names, airbrushed gold lettering, and direct application on the vessel itself. What began as a trade became a lifelong craft shaped by real boats, real conditions, and real expectations.
We work with boat owners, captains, builders, and yards who value balance, permanence, and materials that perform over time. If speed, lowest price, or disposable graphics are the priority, we may not be the right fit.
Our clients come to us when the lettering and graphics must feel intentional, fit the vessel correctly, and hold up in real marine conditions
Boat names and registration numbers designed for clarity, proportion, and long-term durability.
Printed and vinyl marine graphics, striping, and partial wraps tailored to the vessel’s lines for clean presentation and lasting performance.
Original marine artwork and vessel logos created to reflect each boat’s character and integrate naturally with its form.
Wood and teak transom panels, marine-grade 316 stainless steel lettering, illuminated stainless lettering, and premium printed or domed marine decals built for harsh marine environments.
Every project begins with the vessel and the intent behind the design. Clients are encouraged to share vessel details and photos early in the process. From there, design direction, materials, and timelines are discussed based on the scope of work.
Same-day or next-day service is available for registration numbers and simple names when needed
Most printed or vinyl projects are completed within one to two weeks after artwork approval
Stainless steel lettering and hard materials require additional time for fabrication and finishing
Fully custom, hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind projects may take several weeks or longer, depending on complexity
Only materials proven to perform in marine environments are used. This includes premium marine-grade vinyls, acrylics, teak wood transom backgrounds, marine-grade 316 stainless steel lettering, illuminated stainless components, and specialty metals such as titanium. In salt, sun, and constant motion, shortcuts fail. Proper materials, paired with sound design and precise installation, endure.
Vintage Marine Graphics offers full onsite installation services and ships completed graphics and components worldwide. Whether a project is installed locally or delivered internationally, the same care is taken in production, packaging, and finishing. Every piece is prepared to arrive ready for proper installation and long-term performance.
Vintage Marine Graphics operates as an independent studio focused exclusively on marine lettering, graphics, and custom fabrication. This independence allows for complete specialization, direct accountability, and creative focus.
While part of the broader Vintage family alongside Vintage Wraps, Vintage Marine Graphics maintains its own identity, leadership, and production process. The connection reflects shared standards of quality, not shared shortcuts.
From skiffs to superyachts, every project is approached with the same level of care and precision. Design, production, and installation are handled with long-term performance in mind, so each piece represents both the vessel and its owner for years to come.
Every project starts with the vessel. Share your details, and we’ll take it from there.
